Participants will explore how coordinated regional planning can accelerate the buildout of domestic fuel corridors for alternative transportation technologies. They will assess the roles of state departments of transportation, public agencies, and private partners in improving corridor continuity, reliability, and access. The session will equip attendees to identify planning strategies that support freight movement, fleet adoption, and long-term infrastructure deployment.

Erin Belt joined VDOT’s Environmental Division as the Decarbonization Program Manager in July 2022. In her role, she manages the deployment of EV charging stations across the Commonwealth through the NEVI Formula Program as well as VDOT’s Carbon Reduction Program. Prior to joining VDOT, she previously worked in construction stormwater for more than 17 years with Virginia DEQ, two Virginia localities and the State of Georgia. Erin completed her Bachelor’s degrees in Forestry & Wildlife Management and her Master’s degree in Wildlife Management and Ecology at the University of Georgia. She enjoys sustainable homesteading with her husband and cheering on the UGA Bulldawgs.

Derrick Herrmann, P.E. is the Division Chief of Transformational Technology at PennDOT. The division is responsible for serving as subject matter experts on emerging technologies ranging from Connected and Automated Vehicles, Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fueling, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Air Mobility, and whatever the future may hold. The team is working on many initiatives to advance the Commonwealth’s position in deploying these technologies, spending much of its time administering PA’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program and implementing several other federal grant programs, developing policy, and engaging in research with Pennsylvania universities. Derrick has over 10 years of experience with PennDOT and is a graduate of Minnesota State University.

Breanne Preisen is a Clean Transportation Program Manager with the State of Delaware’s Division of Climate, Coastal and Energy and serves as the Director of the Delaware Clean Cities and Communities Coalition. She manages over $8 million in programs supporting electric vehicle adoption, including rebate programs, competitive grants, and charging infrastructure deployment. Her work focuses on helping local governments, utilities, and partners navigate planning, policy, and implementation to move projects forward.
