Austin Brown serves as the director of the Transportation Technologies Office at the U.S. Department of Energy, leading critical research, development and deployment efforts aimed at accelerating the transition to a prosperous and secure transportation future.
Britney J. McCoy, Ph.D is the Director of the Freight and Emissions Reduction Initiatives Branch in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, Legacy Emissions Division. She leads efforts to reduce legacy transportation emissions by building freight and supply chain partnerships, overseeing grant programs, and guiding technology evaluations. Her team administers the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) grant program to cut diesel emissions and strengthen performance across diverse fleets. With more than 15 years in government, she applies expertise in project management, program coordination, and public policy analysis to solve complex technical challenges in advanced clean transportation and reduce diesel impacts from mobile sources. Her motto is, “I’m simply trying to create some meaning out of life while improving the environment and changing lives at the same time.” She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering & Public Policy and an M.S. in Environmental Management and Science from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.A. in Engineering and Government & Law from Lafayette College.
Levi Kamolnickis a seasoned advocate for sustainable transportation and environmental policy with deep expertise in legislative and regulatory affairs. As Federal Policy Director at CALSTART, Levi shapes influential campaigns and strategies to shape public policy that promotes efficiency, mobility, and electrification. Levi previously worked at Ceres, where he mobilized businesses to engage policymakers at the federal level, with major victories within the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, and throughout their implementation in subsequent years. Prior to his work in public policy and advocacy, Levi worked on three electoral campaigns for candidates at the state and federal level. Levi’s work has appeared in media outlets such as NPR, Automotive News, and the Tampa Bay Times, among others. Levi has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
